The Masculine Dialogues

The Masculine Dialogues have been created as a crucible in which we can:

  • Re-examine our definition of what it means to be a man in the 21st Century.
  • Explore and acknowledge our strengths, our weaknesses, our wounds, and traumas.
  • Recognize that egoic power that attempts to control and dominate will lead us to an untimely end.
  • Demonstrate new forms of conscious leadership and collaborative relationships for the benefit of our children and future generations.
  • Inspire participants to take specific action toward this vision of a safe, equitable, regenerative and peaceful world.

A Call to Action

Let us envision a future re-imagined and re-inspired, hopeful, and guided by truth and the wisdom of the heart.

Let each person take some action to contribute to a future that is constructive, regenerative and sustainable.

Let us uncover a new and more authentic definition of what it means to be a man, what it means to be human – and what kind of future we can create for ourselves and for this world.

Let us come together - men and women of all races, ages, and geographies - in the spirit of genuine inquiry and willingness.

The Role of The Masculine

As men, we believe it is time to admit that we have played a major role – through both commission and omission – in contributing to the enormous challenges we face.

We have failed to acknowledge many of our limitations, our frailties and insufficiencies and the wounds we carry and continue to inflict on life in these times. We have focused too exclusively on our personal goals and private agendas and failed to do our part in serving the greatest good of the greatest number.

We believe it is time for us to revisit, re-imagine and redefine who we are and what our role is – and can be – in relationship to ourselves, to others, and to the world.  It is time to set aside our old beliefs and examine in detail who we can become in order to mitigate the damage we’ve done and begin to contribute more fully to regenerating the world.

This we believe will require dia logos – a true dialogue that is open to ALL voices who seek to find deeper truth and understanding through active listening, mature self- examination, and heartfelt sharing.  It will require that we trust in and return our focus to the Wisdom Traditions and revisit the roles, values, and actions of the masculine crew members on Spaceship Earth.

It is time for men to admit that we lost sight of our true strength and power that comes not from force and domination, but from love, courage and integrity. This began when we stepped off the healthy path of Wisdom Traditions and onto the destructive path of egoic materialism and consumption.

We believe we would also be wise to re-examine our true purpose, express  more compassion, and commit to serving a higher vision of “success” and “achievement” – one that leaves no one out.

And we know we must offer our unique gifts to the world, in collaboration with our female, male, and non-binary brothers and sisters, and all life forms on this planet.  Only in this way can we demonstrate our interconnectedness and the natural order we depend on for our survival.

Indeed, it is time for a new direction.  Time to begin a new dialogue.
